year, ORCA saves hundreds of sick, abandoned or abused animals, and
runs different campaigns and actions. ORCA gathers over a hundred
volunteers and associates, and with team effort and equal enthusiasm
we fight for the rights and the protection of animals that share
this planet together with us!

Become an ORCA member
Members
of ORCA can be individuals or firms/ organizations, who are
acquainted and who accept the Statute and the program of ORCA
Members of ORCA receive a membership card and are on our mailing
list and receive regular information about our work. Apart from the
financial aid they give us by regularly paying their membership
fees, our members can actively take part in our work by performing
various tasks
If you have free time on your hands and you want to do something
positive for animals, why not do the right thing and become an ORCA
volunteer.
An ORCA volunteer can be any individual who is ready to devote his
time and knowledge to protecting animals. Depending on your
enthusiasm and devotion, there are various ways in which you can
help. You can help us even if you are not in direct contact with
animals. A lot of people perform administrative tasks or collect
donations from the public.
During your first visit, you will be acquainted with our mission,
our goals and activities…
When you become a volunteer, you will beforehand go through some
induction training, followed by active support, before you embark on
specific training for the task you wish to perform. This way, every
ORCA member will be assigned to a place which suits them and in
which they can contribute the most.
If you are under 16 years of age and you want to be a part of ORCA
you can join ORKICA.
What can ORCA volunteers do?
Distribute promotional materials and put up posters
— our every campaign is followed with a lot of promotional
material (leaflets, posters, badges…) You too can take part in
distributing these at our stalls or from door to door.
Especially important are the posters for finding homes for
abandoned animals...
Research
— collecting and interpreting information about animal
protection in our country and throughout the world
Find homes for abandoned animals
— looking after the animals at the stalls, finding them homes
by placing ads, and by putting up posters etc...
Photograph/record
— an important activity which is a part of our every activity.
Apart from that it is necessary to document many cases of animal
abuse, so we can react in an adequate and efficient manner!
Do administrative tasks
– update the data collections, type texts, and a lot of this can
be done at your own home
Information Technology support
– making data banks, mailing lists, updating the website,
processing the photos
Translating different texts and materials
– from English, German and other languages
Writing
– newspaper articles, texts for the website, media announcements
etc.
Legal affairs
– writing different criminal charges against animal abuse, as
well as writing reprimands
Marketing and promotion
– making commercials, videos and jingles…
Design and layout of printed materials
(posters and leaflets)…
Fundraising
– is not linked to specific days, and it can be a very creative
job – it should involve inventing ideas and plans that can bring
the necessary means for achieving better animal protection
Writing projects,
if you have the necessary experience …
Working with children in Orkica
– if you enjoy working with children, you can help us in
creating programs and campaigns
Transport
– of food, equipment used on the stalls and in other activities,
transporting animals to their new homes…
Working in the field
– saving animals, research …
 These
are the tasks and some suggestions what our volunteers do and
can do, and of course, there is a place for YOU. If you have an
idea, please call us!
Every first or third Monday in the month, from 18 to 18:30, we
accept new members. You can come to “Beogradjanka”, in Masarikova
5/XVI or call, or e-mail us.
If you do not live in Belgrade, but you would like to be a member of
ORCA, we will send you all the necessary application forms by post,
and we will consider an adequate task for you to do from your
home-town.
Become
an ORCA associate!
YOU can help animals as our associate as well. You can help and
perform a one-off task or you can perform these regularly.
Become site correspondents
– If you like, you can help us by sending us information about
animals. Also, you can become an ORCA journalist, by helping to
create the site and writing texts about animals or any other of
your experiences.
Research!
You can collect different information from the country and
abroad, regarding animals and their protection…
Help us find homes for abandoned animals by
looking after them in your home temporarily or finding them
another shelter
transporting them to the new owners
distributing posters that promote finding homes for animals
Apart from that, you can offer us expertise help, if you are a
translator, programmer, paralegal, pedagogue, psychologist, project
manager, a marketing expert, a designer…
